D1 Training Approach
The below message was shared with users affected by Deployment 1:
Things are changing for specific users in September
We are reaching out with exciting news about the first SIS Renewal deployment of MyBU Student, coming September 26th! This first deployment focuses on Admissions, Financial Aid & Scheduling processes, and we have identified you as someone who will be using the new system this fall.
You can refer to this website for more details about the timeline, vision, and resources to help you understand what’s changing. This website will serve as a resource for you over the next 4-6 months, with recorded demos, reference material, training schedules, and training content added each month.
Training will be provided in several formats
The Change Management Team will support the transition from the mainframe to MyBU Student by communicating exactly what is changing in September (and, importantly, what is not changing with this deployment) and providing training on the new elements.
We are creating training materials for you to use after launch. Online materials will be available for you to access anytime you need a refresher on a step or process in the new system. We are building materials and support opportunities in multiple formats depending on the goal of the training, including:
- Instructor Led Training – Live training courses facilitated by trainers (more details below)
- User Guides – Documentation providing process screenshots and instructions that can be used for reference
- Videos – Short videos of process walkthroughs
- Training Practice Environment – A sandbox where users can practice common tasks before launch
- Recorded Demos – Longer videos demonstrating system functionality walkthroughs
- Office Hours – Scheduled virtual meetings where users can drop in and ask questions of system and process experts
- Online Courses that will remain available for learners to revisit
Some training will be assigned to you according to your role, while other materials (user guides, videos, office hours) will be available to all for additional support.
We plan on bringing our training approach, material preview, and session schedule to multiple meetings in the next few weeks. If you have a specific question or concern, feel free to contact us directly through our Contact Us page.
We look forward to working with you during this transition!
