Eden Rapp

Research Assistant and Co-Researcher

My name is Eden Rapp and I am a hard worker and self advocate from California. I have different kinds of writing and presentation experience both locally and nationally. For example I have spoken at different events such as at the National Down Syndrome Society and National Down Syndrome Congress conventions since 2015. I help lead a book club (UpVoice) for young adults with different Abilities to grow in their love for reading and grow in their social skills and independence. In 2018 I got a Voice Award for self- advocacy from the Down Syndrome Association of Los Angeles. I earned a Competent Communicator award from Toastmasters in 2019. I am active in Toastmasters and it has helped me grow as a Leader, Public Speaker and has taught me how to receive and give feedback. I am a published writer. In fact National Down Syndrome Society used one of my articles for their DSworks campaign. I care about the disability community. So I have lobbied in Washington DC and Sacramento plus I have written letters to support or oppose certain bills. So that it would be beneficial for people like me.

I have enjoyed serving on the “Down Syndrome to the Max” co-research team with Boston University since 2022. I can’t wait to use my skills as I write and create more opportunities for my team as a Research Assistant.
