About

Public Health in the 21st Century

How have we evolved and how can we advance together?

Public health efforts in the 21st century have realized the success of tobacco control and the necessity of a robust and proactive emergency preparedness response. No doubt, the field of public health has made tremendous strides to advance the health of all. This year, the Public Health Student Forum 2022 encourages participants to reflect on the progress of the public health field through discussion, student presentations, and professional networking opportunities. In highlighting our collective improvements and successes, we will work together to identify unique ways to advance health equity as we soon enter the public health workforce. We will take responsibility to eliminate these constructs and foster more equitable systems which promote better health for all. Join the next generation of public health professionals.

The mission of the Public Health Student Forum 2022

The Public Health Student Forum is a space for young public health professionals to discuss current public health topics and brainstorm unique solutions to complex, layered public health issues. By students and for students, the forum serves as a way to promote intercollegiate and cross-sector collaboration in conversations surrounding public health issues. This opportunity exists to bring together New England’s leading Public Health institutions, students, leaders, and the broader public health community in thought and action. Our mission is to showcase diverse research programs and community outreach efforts from across institutions, and serve as a networking and imagination incubator. The Public Health Student Forum can be an opportunity for students to engage with non-academic private and public organizations, as well as their fellow peers to advance knowledge, research, and health.

The vision of the Public Health Student Forum 2022

Our vision is to strive for institutional collaboration and interaction between students around key interest areas within public health in the greater New England Area. The Public Health Student Forum aims to provide a platform that empowers participants to create new connections, develop professionally, and contribute to and acquire public health knowledge.
