NEPHTC Team Receives Award from Massachusetts Public Health Nurses Association
NEPHTC team members Alyssa Faria, Training Manager, Olivia Stenger, Communications Coordinator, and Karla Todd Barrett, Senior Program Manager Training Specialist received awards at the annual conference of the Massachusetts Public Health Nurses Association on May 9, 2024. From 2022 through 2024, NEPTHC and MAPHN worked together to produce three webinar trainings: Public Health Nursing Guide to Emergency Preparedness and Response, The Public Health Nursing Guide on Infectious Disease, Surveillance, and Response, and Vaccine Management & Immunizations, Vaccine for Children (VFC) Program and the Do’s & Don’ts of Vaccine Clinics.
Alyssa Faria worked with the MAPHN experts to produce and design the three webinars and the self-paced training summarizing the vaccine management information. As of May 28 2024, the online trainings have reached 1,329 registrants from as far away as Hawaii.
“We don’t give these awards lightly” said Ruth Mori, MSN, RN, MDPH Regional Immunization Nurse, and immediate past president of MAPHN.
NEPTHC looks forward to more collaboration with the Public Health Nurses, and supporting them with hosting and educational technology support, as they further develop their excellent training programs.
