Kelsi’s project sought to improve health equity by analyzing health care workforce challenges in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire (NH). A majority of the Lakes Region is rural and medically underserved and many of the health care organizations serve vulnerable populations in the community. Understanding the health care workforce challenges in the region helped to inform workforce recruitment and retention strategies for the health care organizations so they continue to be well-staffed in order to serve their rural and medically underserved communities.
