Just Launched! CDC’s Infection Prevention Practices in Dental Settings Video Series with Vermont CEUs!
NEPHTC is happy to announce the launch of an online video training series, developed using materials from the CDC’s Summary of Infection Prevention Practices in Dental Settings: Basic Expectations for Safe Care. We worked with the Vermont Department of Health’s Office of Oral Health, and her team to record a live presentation of the training and then to add engagement and knowledge questions to the videos. This budget-conscious approach will allow dental health professionals in Vermont and beyond to increase their knowledge of infection prevention and to learn more about infection prevention resources available from the CDC.
We encourage other state oral health departments to consider adding CEUs for dental health care providers who complete this training.
This 10 module training series covers the basic principles of infection prevention and control that form the basis for CDC recommendations for dental health care settings.
The training was recorded with an audience of dental health care personnel and administrative staff in Vermont on June 10, 2019.
The video series training will allow dental health care personnel to:
- Provide basic infection prevention principles and recommendations for dental health care settings.
- Reaffirm standard precautions as the foundation for preventing transmission of infectious agents during patient care in all dental health care settings.
- Access links to full guidelines and source documents that can be referenced for more detailed background information and recommendations.
