Public Health Workforce 3.0: Recent Progress and What’s on the Horizon to Achieve the 21st-Century Workforce
This commentary highlights progress that has been made in public health over the past decades and a focus toward a path forward for the public health workforce. As mentioned in page S8 of the commentary on the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) integrating training to address strategic skills in public health, New England Public Health Training Center is among 10 Regional Training Centers throughout the country that is focused on providing quality training to public health professionals and community health workers on the front-line of key public health issues facing communities. Working with community based training partners to address the unique needs of stakeholders and developing a team based training model is at the core of Region 1 – New England Public Health Training Center.
