| Content | This poem is written to praise the Prophet Muhammad. The author writes about the accomplishments and miracles of the Prophet, as well as his honored place in the afterlife. It describes Muhammad by his personal characteristics as well as his actions on Earth. The poem also shows the benefits that will occur to Muslims for following Prophet Muhammad and God’s message, and the protection that the Prophet will give to his followers in the afterlife. Additionally, it laments that the author was born long after the Prophet’s life, and that he desires to complete the hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca) in order to see the city of Medina where the Prophet rests. He describes what he would do if he went to Medina, as well as what had happened there during the time of the Prophet. |
