Professor Ousmane Sène teaches in the Department of English at the University Cheikh Anta Diop of Dakar, Senegal. He received his academic training from University Cheikh Anta Diop, Université de la Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris III, and École Normale Superieure de Saint Cloud. He has served as chair of the English Department of the Université Cheikh Anta Diop for years and has been a visiting and Fulbright scholar at several American institutions, including University of Minnesota, Michigan State University, Mount Holyoke College, Wells College,  University of Florida, to name only these. Currently, he is one of the most experienced study abroad program managers in Senegal. He is one of the key resource persons for the local media on contemporary American affairs and is regularly interviewed by Senegalese radio stations, newspapers and television networks. He received the honorary title of Distinguished International Academician from the University of Minnesota in June 2010. Professor Sene also serves as Director of the West African Research Center (WARC) in Dakar. As Director of the West African Research Center, he is in charge of the overall supervision of daily activities at WARC. He liaises on a daily basis with the Director of the West African Research Association (WARA) in Boston to ensure a satisfactory coordination of activities and decisions.
