Dr. Ndiémé Sow is an Associate Professor at the Assane Seck University of Ziguinchor, Senegal who specializes in sociolinguistics. She is a member of CREILAC (Centre de Recherche Interdisciplinaire sur les Langues, les Littératures, les Arts et les Cultures) and is affiliated to LiLPa: Unit 1339 (Linguistique, Langues et Parole at the University of Strasbourg). She is interested in urban sociolinguistics and interactional dynamics. Her current work focuses on language and educational policies in Africa, social mobility and language dynamics of young people in interaction, and issues of sociolinguistic space. Currently, she is President of the Observatory of African multilingualism (OPA) and works in this capacity with Prof. Pierre Frath on a project that is focused on the mechanisms of implementing strategies for bilingual and plurilingual education in Africa.
