Cara Lewis Awarded for the FastOA Initiative

The Arthritis Foundation has awarded Cara Lewis as part of their Osteoarthritis Clinical Trial Network initiative called FastOA. To carry out this initiative, the Human Adaptation Lab (HAL) at Boston University will be evaluating hip morphology and movement in young female athletes (18 to 30 years old).
DPT Student Anna Applegate Attends 2017 WFATT World Congress
Anna Applegate, one of HAL's DPT students, recently attended the 2017 World Congress of the World Federation of Athletic Training and Therapy (WFATT) in Madrid, Spain from September 29-October 1, 2017. Each year, the congress brings together researchers, professionals, teachers, and students from the fields of sport, exercise, physical therapy, and rehabilitation.

We're happy to introduce two of our newest undergraduate research assistants, Drew Faria and Izzy Garza! Drew is a junior majoring in biology and minoring in human physiology, while Izzy is a sophomore majoring in biology.

PhD Student Brittany Bingham Named Sharon and Robert Ryan Fellow
Our PhD student, Brittany Bingham, was recently recognized as the 2017 Sharon and Robert Ryan Fellow. As such, she received the Ryan Summer Stipend Award.
This award comes from the generosity of Sharon (SAR '70) and Robert Ryan, through The Sharon G. and Robert L. Ryan Endowed Fellowship in Rehabilitation Sciences. Their gift provides support for one or more PhD students in the Rehabilitation Sciences, with a preference for PhD students supporting the research mission of the Ryan Center for Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. Recipients are selected by the Dean of Sargent College.
