Our very own Kerri Graber is featured in this year's Inside Sargent 2019-2020. In an article focused on mentorship and Kerri's experience conducting research for her DPT Practicum, Kerri explains the effect of weighted walking as an exercise for weak hip muscles. We are proud of Kerri's accomplishment and excited to have her featured so prominently in the magazine!

HAL would like to congratulate Izzy on the completion and presentation of her UROP project! Izzy looked at the Impact of Femoroacetabular Impingement Syndrome on Hip Muscle Activation During Gait. She worked hard over the summer and we were so happy to have her in the lab!

Congratulations Izzy on UROP 2019

April 4th, 2019

Congratulations to Izzy on the approval of her UROP project for summer of 2019! Izzy will be looking at the Impact of Femoroacetabular Impingement Syndrome on Hip Muscle Activation During Gait

Femoroacetabular Impingement syndrome (FAIS) appears to affect the gait of those affected due to pain experienced at the hip.  In order to better understand how FAIS affects the musculoskeletal system, we will be investigating possible differences in the correlation between muscle activation and hip contact forces between control subjects and those with FAIS.
