Static Site Directory Access

Access to static directories can be granted in two ways:

1. If someone in this office already has access, they should be able to use the Manage Users tool to grant access.
   • Additionally, granting a user access to `/newmedia` will automatically grant access to a variety of other ID-maintained sites.
2. File a ticket with something along the wording lines of “Please grant __username__ AFS read AND write access to `/__the_directory__` and `__the_directory__` to the `/newmedia` access group.”
   • Note: the max-quota for new directories is something small like 50MB, so if you need to upload lots of data—videos or many photos—make sure to add a quote increase to ___MB in your ticket to IS&T.

The newmedia-admin access group in AFS will get users into most static sites that typically require ID folks to do some tweaks to non-WP content.
