Taryn Vian, M.Sc., PhD, is a Clinical Professor of Global Health and Associate Chair of the Global Health Department at the Boston University School of Public Health. An expert in health systems strengthening, anti-corruption, and financial management, Dr. Vian has worked in DRC, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Kenya, and Lesotho in support of management systems and financing policy development. Previously in Zambia she analyzed operations at University Teaching Hospital for a World Bank project and trained Zambian government and non-governmental staff on good governance in the health sector. Before joining BU she worked as a health economist and management consultant for two international consulting firms, and was director of operations for a health care decision support software company in Massachusetts. She is a member of Global Advisory Groups organized by the Gates Foundation, USAID, and WHO on logistics management and transparency in the pharmaceutical sector. Dr. Vian has an MS degree in Health Policy & Management from the Harvard School of Public Health, and a PhD in Public Policy & Global Health from Boston University.
