Jamie Chen selected for Fall 2024 Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP)

Jamie Chen is selected for the Fall 2024 Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP). His project, titled “Thermal Waves Sensors (TWS) to measure the thermal conductivity and thermal resistance of materials,” will focus on developing thermal wave sensors for batteries, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), and thermal energy bricks. Thermal wave sensors use thermal waves to measure thermal conductivity and thermal resistance of materials. In batteries, the transport properties of lithium ions and how they impact thermal properties will be a focus. While in MOFs, these sensors will be utilized to study the transport of gaseous species and the impact these species have on thermal properties.
