Join our Research Study in Austin, Texas!
Our team of researchers from Boston University’s Deaf Studies program is working with researchers at UT Austin on a study of how deaf children acquire ASL. In particular, we are interested in how young deaf children learn to navigate the world in visual mode and how they learn to look to their caregivers to perceive visual language. To do this, we invite deaf children and their caregivers to interact in a natural setting with a set of toys and books. As they play, their gaze is tracked through a light, wearable camera.
We will be at Austin from June 2nd to 8th!
Our current study is for families with deaf children aged 12-36 months. Families are paid up to $100 for participating, and children receive a book and toy. We would love to have you! Nuestro equipo de investigadores del programa de Estudios para Sordos de la Universidad de Boston está trabajando con investigadores de la Universidad de Texas Austin en un estudio sobre cómo los niños sordos adquieren ASL.
