Julia Leary awarded UROP grant
Congratulations to Julia Leary (SAR ’21) whose proposal, “Pointing in parent input during interaction with deaf children in American Sign Language” was selected for the Student Research Award from the BU’s Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP). Julia’s project will investigate how parents use points to set up a relationship between the label and referent. Her research will also help us determine which of these “pointing sequences” is most successful at directing the child’s attention to both the label and the referent. We look forward to her findings and are grateful to her contributions in our lab!
