Genetics and Genomics

During the 17th and 18th century in Europe, racial hierarchies in society became incorporated into biological models through the taxonomy of organisms - including people. In science and medicine today, we continue to grapple with how this legacy has been overlooked and the lessons of scientists as members of the systems in which they partake being lost.

Education

It is documented that poor health due to chronic stress and trauma, inequitable access and distribution of resources within and outside the classroom, school/educator implicit bias/stereotypes and many other factors can impact educational outcomes. These social determinants of health and their links to race in the US education system are explored in this content collection.
