Evan Nessen
Research Assistant
I recently graduated with a M.S. in Human Physiology from Boston University where I studied how psychosocial factors influence cardiovascular disease risk in marginalized and underrepresented populations. I am currently a Research Assistant in Cardiology at Boston Medical Center where I work on studies investigating cardiac amyloidosis and heart failure. With iCaMP, I perform mitochondrial respirometry using skeletal muscle biopsies from patients with heart failure. I will be pursuing medical school and I am excited to use research as one of many tools to improve patient outcomes in medical settings. When I am away from science I enjoy training for distance road running races, spending time with my partner, and exploring the city with my friends.
