Project Timeline

Over the next several months we will be systematically collecting data to present to the Mayor’s Council on Sustainable Development. Outlined below is the projects timeline from start to finish.

1. Focus Groups

To help us reach our goal, we will kick off the discussion with a series of small focus groups throughout the 2016 spring semester with undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty members. These focus groups will concentrate on the challenges faced by students and young professionals who live, work, play and learn in Boston.

2. Survey

For the members of the BU community that are not able to particpate in our spring focus groups, we will publish a survey to allow you the opportunity to voice your vision of the future of Boston. This survey will be released in May 2016 and remain active until the end of the summer (2016).

3. Compile Data

During the summer of 2016, we will compile the information gathered during both the focus groups and surveys.  We will identfy the most critical opportunities and challenges by members of the BU community as they relate to the city of Boston.

4. Charrette

Planned for the early fall of 2016, we will host a large visioning charrette which will focus on a few selected topics derived from the information gathered during the spring and summer. We welcome the entire BU community, and its affiliates, to join us in reviewing and discussing these  topics as we create a vision for the future of our city.

5. Report Back

Using the feedback provided from the fall visioning charrette, we will report our findings and recommendations to Imagine Boston 2030.
