Instructors: Prasad Patil and Lukas Weber.

March 26, 2024 | 11AM – 2PM.  Hiebert Lounge.  Lunch provided.

Registration is now closed.

This workshop will provide training in the key principles of data visualization and the opportunity to practice applying these principles through worked examples.  Participants will:

  • Learn key principles and concepts for data visualization
  • Acquire skills in creating data visualizations through examples created in R
  • Design a data visualization in a hands-on group activity

This workshop will provide valuable information for both quantitative and non-quantitative researchers seeking to improve their ability to create useful and informative visualizations of data.

Participants with experience in R will have opportunities to practice the skills learned in R and gain access to code for examples shown in the workshop.

Participants without R programming experience will learn key principles and recommendations for data visualization as well as collaborate in the group design of a data visualization.

This interactive workshop will allow participants to work collaboratively in a hands-on group activity to design a visualization, applying the principles learned.

For those interested in learning more R prior to the workshop, materials from our prior R literacy session are available here.
