Huan Mi’s current research focuses on the effects of climate-driven variability on lake turbidity on the Tibetan Plateau based on a time-series of remote sensing data and a wave model. She has also worked on several other projects: 1) the monitoring of surface deformation and constructing temporal Digital Surface Models (DSMs) of a laboratory-simulated landslide using the close-range photogrammetry technique; 2) analysis of the spatiotemporal shoreline changes in Shanghai by integrating the historical Declassified Intelligence Satellite Photography (DISP) and Landsat time series data from 1960 to 2015.
