Nellie Amosi

Postdoctoral Research Associate

Nellie Amosi is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Boston University Institute for Global Sustainability, where she advances projects that promote a sustainable and equitable future by integrating data-driven analysis and policy insights to address challenges in sustainable energy systems and climate governance. She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences from the University of Connecticut with a specialization in Remote Sensing and Spatial Data Analytics, an M.A. in Sociology from New Mexico State University, and an M.S. in Environmental Science from Mzuzu University in Malawi. Her professional experience includes research roles with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Department of Public Health, focusing on climate change, environmental, and public health research. At the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR-ICRAF), she coordinated climate-related projects that informed sustainable land use policies, enhanced food security, and promoted equity across Sub-Saharan Africa. Guided by a commitment to equity and innovation, Nellie’s work drives transformative solutions at the intersection of climate science, technology, and social change.
