Looking for a PhD Program?
We are always looking for outstanding Ph.D. students to join our team – especially as we make this exciting transition to Penn State! Energy Engineering at PSU is one of the country’s top 5 programs in Energy Research.
We have several fully funded Ph.D. positions available. To succeed in the EME2Lab, students must have a strong background in thermodynamics and have degrees in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, energy engineering, or environmental engineering. Students with MS/MEng degrees are highly encouraged to apply.
Please note: we are experimentalists – a willingness to get your hands dirty is a necessity!

Apologies, but it is not always possible to respond to every inquiry.
We are looking for students to work on new approaches to the Integrated Biorefinery, from developing economical in situ catalysis methods for better biofuels and platform chemicals, to downstream upgrading of biomass solid residues, and new materials for biofuel upgrading. If you have an interest in these areas, please be sure to address them in your application.
