Although Teresa Gillespie has been taking classes for a year, she is beginning her first official year this Fall as a PhD student in the Research and Evaluation Methods program, at the School of Education and Human Development, University of Colorado, Denver campus. Teresa Gillespie is a native of Denver, Colorado. She works as a Bilingual Spanish/English-speaking Speech-Language Pathologist with a centralized and multidisciplinary special education team that is part of a local public school district. She is beginning her 23rd year in the position. Teresa Gillespie has a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, a non-medical Degree program, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Audiology and Spanish from the University of Denver. She earned an Advanced Certificate in Bilingual Speech-Language Pathology from Teachers College, Columbia University. Her passions are assessment, research, continuing education, and working with native Spanish-speaking students and their families. Teresa Gillespie is excited to be a part of the Nuestros Niños Professional Development Program as a Graduate Research Assistant.
