Awards and Recognitions

LarsonAllison Larson, MD, has been appointed Assistant Dean in the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA).  Dr. Larson is an Assistant Professor of Dermatology. She received her MD from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed a dermatology residency at Massachusetts General Hospital followed by a fellowship in dermatopathology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.  Allison is the course director for the Dermatology Module of the Disease and Therapeutics course in the second year of the medical student curriculum.  She also leads skin cancer prevention seminars in Introduction to Clinical Medicine II and is an active lecturer for our dermatology residents.  In clinic, Allison teaches both residents and medical students.  The 2015 BUMC Dermatology Residency Program Teacher of the Year, Allison is a field-specific advisor for students applying to dermatology residency and part of the dermatology resident selection committee.

 

Vashi-N-2Neelam A. Vashi, MD was awarded the Presidential Citation Award by the American Academy of Dermatology.  This award is given to individuals who have made significant contributions to both the Academy and specialty of dermatology with recognition at the 2017 Stars of the Academy Recognition Ceremony, President’s Gala, and Annual Business Meeting.  Additionally, Dr. Vashi has had a prolific year publishing many articles and textbook chapters about pigmentary disorders, body dysmorphic disorder, and procedural dermatology.  Dr. Vashi was also awarded the Leaders In Giving Award, in appreciation for her generous and consistent support of the American Academy of Dermatology’s philanthropic programs and services over the past 5 years.

 

BotchkarevVladimir Botchkarev, MD, PhD, has been elected into the Scientific Program Committee of the Society for Investigative Dermatology for a five-year term (2017-2022).  In addition, he will continue to serve as an editorial consultant to the Journal of Investigative Dermatology for the next term.

 

 

FalangaAwardVincent Falanga, MD was awarded the 2017 Boswick Lifetime Achievement Award at the Symposium on Advanced Wound Care in San Diego, CA.
