Social Factors, Stress, and Trauma

It has been documented that people who identify as part of socially vulnerable and/or marginalized groups often have disproportionally negative health consequences of stressors and traumatic events.   Researchers in our community are studying stress, trauma and mental health in the context of several social factors including race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, immigration status, gender and sexual diversity.  Our community members also frequently publish viewpoints, editorials, and commentaries to drive the field towards a deeper understanding of the connections between stress, trauma, and mental health and social inequities.
