Xinyue Yu
First-Year MS-SLP Student
Xinyue Amelia Yu (she/her/hers) is currently pursuing her Master of Science (M.S.) in Speech-Language Pathology. She holds a B.A. in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Elementary Education and a minor in Psychology from Lesley University. Prior to her graduate studies at BU, Amelia worked as an educator in Boston and surrounding communities for several years. In this role, she supported children with diverse communication needs across multilingual and multicultural settings.
Originally from China, Amelia is multilingual, speaking her local dialect, Mandarin, and English. This background, combined with her experience supporting young learners, fueled her interest in language acquisition and use across different environments. Amelia’s research interests include bilingualism, early communication development, and implicit learning.
In her free time, she bakes, reads, and exercises occasionally.
