COVID-19 in Africa Data Science Initiative
The COVID-19 in Africa Data Science Initiative seeks to model and map the trajectory of the novel corona virus [SARS-Cov-2, COVID-19] on the African continent, its economic impact, and the capacity of country level healthcare systems to adequately respond to the pandemic over time.
Additionally, the initiative looks to provide translational and implementation research that supports real–time decision–making and efficient resource allocation across the continent.
Ultimately, the initiative aims to generate knowledge and data to support the response and resiliency to the COVID-19 pandemic in Africa by leveraging data science approaches. Our target audience includes: policy, research, funding and implementing organizations including the Africa Center for Disease Control (AfCDC), country ministries of health, bilateral and multilateral agencies, as well as philanthropic and non-profit organizations, among others.
