- Title Graduate Student
Rachel Nauer Wehr completed her PhD in Psychological and Brain Sciences through the Brain, Behavior, and Cognition program under the mentorship of Prof Chantal Stern and Prof. Karin Schon. Work from her pre-doctoral F31 NRSA Fellowship focused on how both age and exercise modulate memory, particularly in the context of spatial navigation and memory disambiguation. The goal of her research was to determine the neurobiological mechanisms of hippocampal subfield-related plasticity and the opposing effects of aging and aerobic fitness. Importantly, her project investigated the role of fitness across early, middle, and late adulthood, in hopes of providing evidence for targeted implementation of aerobic exercise interventions at crucial points throughout the adult lifespan.
Following earning her PhD, she joined Insight Data Science as a Health Data Fellow in the fall of 2019. There, she partnered with a fitness and wellness mobile app start-up to examine user retention and churn in the early stages of app launch. Her analysis included developing a pipeline using PostgreSQL, R, and Python to create and train predictive churn models to track user engagement.
Dr. Nauer Wehr recently joined CVS Health as an Experimentation and Analytics Advisor specializing in pharmacy personalization. Her work at CVS is focused on utilizing machine learning to develop and analyze intervention strategies to improve prescription medication adherence on a personalized level.
