Energy & Health Lab

The relationship between energy and health is rapidly growing research area. It is relevant to major contemporary policy issues including climate mitigation, environmental justice, and the energy transition – the decades-long effort to transition the global energy system away from fossil fuels to mitigate climate change. Since the energy system is responsible for 75% of the greenhouse gas emissions responsible for climate change, and since roughly one out of five deaths globally is due to air pollution from fossil fuels, the field of public health should treat interventions on the energy system and primary prevention.
