Investigating the Link Between Excessive Heat and Pregnancy Loss
A pioneering study from Dr. Amelia Wesselink is unraveling the relationship between heat exposure and pregnancy loss. The study funded by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development aims to pinpoint the critical gestational weeks during development and inform future behavior changes, clinical recommendations, and public policies in the face of rising temperatures due to climate change. Using temperature data from heat sensors worn by participants, this research design promises a more accurate understanding of the impact of heat on pregnant people. This study hopes to recruit new enrollees in the longstanding PRESTO study. Read more about the novel research here.
