Post-Doc Panel
Please join BUWIC for a post-doc panel tomorrow night, November 12, at 6:30pm in LSE B01. We will have post docs from industry and academia here to share their insight on life after graduate school. All post docs, grad students, and undergrads (21+) are invited to attend. As always, refreshments will be provided.
Lunch Q&A with Sarah Hokanson
BUWIC will be hosting a Q&A lunch session with Dr. Sarah Hokanson on her career as a Senior Officer for Science and Innovation for the British Consulate General in Boston. Dr. Hokanson received her Bachelor’s degree from Boston University in 2005 and then moved to the University of Pennsylvania to complete her doctoral work in Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics. She then did post-doctoral research at Cornell University.
When: 11:30 am

Who: All graduate student and post-doc members are welcome.
Industry Panel with Dr. Mike Hamill & Dr. Lynell Skewis!
This is a reminder that the BUWIC Industry Panel featuring Dr. Mike Hamill (Elliot Group, 2010) and Dr. Lynell Skewis (Reinhard Group, 20111) is tonight at 6 pm! Mike and Lynell will share their experiences working in industrial positions, and answer any questions about how they got there and what it is like.

Lunch Discussion with Sirtris Scientist
Please join us for the upcoming lunch discussion with Dr. Rebecca Casaubon, Senior Scientist at Sirtris Pharmaceuticals!
When: Friday, March 30th 12:00-1:30PM
Where: SCI room 512
Dr. Casaubon will be discussion her career in the pharmaceutical industry and the career choices that helped her obtain her current position.
We encourage all graduate student and post-doc BUWIC members to join us for this interesting discussion. And don’t forget to bring your questions about careers in the pharmaceutical industry!

Great Turnout for the Non-Traditional Careers Panel
Thanks for everyone who came out last Wednesday to make our panel discussion and networking event a success! And of course a big thanks to our panelists Tracy Callahan, Preshious Reardon, Gauri Nair, and Georgiana Kuhlmann, who answered a lot of questions about their specific careers as well as some of the challenges and decisions of choosing a non-traditional scientific career.

Please join us on Wednesday, February 29th for a panel discussion and networking reception for Non-Traditional Careers for Scientists.
This will be an interactive discussion on career options with professionals from a variety of science related fields. Our panelists include:
