Gabriel de Selding, President and Director of Operations
Gabriel de Selding is the President and Founder of Boston University’s Venture Accelerator (BUVA). His experience as an American Express and Come & Stay intern in Paris sparked his interest in the world of business and entrepreneurship and led him to want to pursue his studies at Boston University’s School of Management. Graduating from a top high school in Paris (Ecole Active Bilingue Jeannine Manuel) with a concentration in Economics and History, as a junior, he now plans to graduate college with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Law.
Eduardo Coronado, Director of Technology Services
Eduardo Coronado, a native of Mexico City, is currently a junior at the College of Engineering pursuing a Biomedical Engineering degree with a concentration in Nanotechnology. He is a co-founder of the Red de Talentos Boston, in which he serves as Board member and Treasurer, that promotes bi-national entrepreneurial collaborations between the highly specialized Mexican Diaspora in Boston, and Mexico. Eduardo’s interests and background on genomics, biotech, life sciences and IT, got him a place in the “Start @ a Start-up Conference” (funded by Sequoia Capital) in Princeton University.
His main goals are to turn student ideas into viable ventures and inspire other students within the BU community. He currently works at David Sinclair Lab at Harvard Medical School.
Carlos Salazar, Treasurer
Carlos Salazar is currently a junior at Boston University studying Economics in the College of Arts and Sciences and concentrating in Finance in the School of Management. He was born and raised Guatemala and then had the opportunity to move to Geneva, Switzerland to finish High School at College du Leman. Living in such diverse places allowed Carlos to gain a broader world experience of the different people and cultures that surround us. Aside from great interest in the world of business and startups Carlos has a passion for Rugby, which has taught him the importance of teamwork and persistence.
Laurens Spethmann, Director of Human Resources and Recruitment
Laurens Spethmann is a junior at Boston University pursuing a dual-degree in Neuroscience and Business through both the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Management. He was born and raised in Hamburg, Germany and attended a boarding school in southern Germany for his high school education. Laurens is particularly interested in business strategy and development however outside BU he has a passion for music and travel. Currently he is working on a music review website.
Sarah Ryan, Director of Communications
Sarah Ryan serves as the Director of Communications. Sarah is a junior at Boston University majoring in Public Relations within the College of Communication and minoring in Business Administration within the School of Management. Her experience interning at various Public Relations firms in Boston such as Schneider Associates and Regan Communications Group sparked her interest in social media marketing and content creation. Sarah is also a member of PRSSA as well as Alpha Delta Pi Sorority on campus.
