About BDC SPIN

The BDC SPIN Mission Statement

BDC SPIN (Student Program for Industry Networking) is a student-organized mentoring program that facilitates the transition from academia to industry during graduate school. Under the guidance of industry mentors and through peer mentoring, students are not only exposed to industry career paths but also have opportunities to expand their professional networks. Since 2020, three cohorts of PhD students have benefited from regular discussions with industry mentors, covering topics from industry and leadership-specific skills to insights about life after graduation.

The BDC SPIN Team

BDC SPIN was founded in 2019 by PhD students Breanna O’Reilly and Emma Briars. By its third year, Diana Arguijo joined the leadership team. Now, in its fourth year, leadership includes Diana Arguijo, Hellen Huang, and Eric South. With an ever-evolving leadership structure, we actively invite BDC SPIN alumni to assume leadership roles.
