Julianna Brody-Fialkin

Project Manager

Julianna grew up in Boston and attended Boston Public Schools before obtaining her BA at Oberlin College and her MSW and MPH at Boston University. With a background in homeless services and legal service funding, she transitioned after finishing her graduate degrees to a clinical social work position in primary care at Boston Children’s Hospital. While there, she ran a diagnostic school problems clinic at Bowdoin Street Health Center. For the past year, she has managed the Boston site of the NIH Autism Centers of Excellence (ACE) Adaptive Community-based Treatment to Improve Outcomes Using Navigation (ACTION) Network project at Boston Medical Center. This multi-site study in Boston, Tallahassee, and Miami explores the impact of expanded screening and in-home parent coaching for families with young children with high concern for autism. Julianna also provides clinical supervision to other BMC studies using motivational interviewing and navigation interventions. Outside of work, she acts as the president of the Friends group at her Boston Public Library branch, helps raise her nephew, and has recently restarted taking piano lessons after 20 years.
