Interested in joining the AMP Lab as a doctoral student?

*Note: we receive many emails from potential applicants asking to meet, or to inquire about specific opportunities. While we do not meet individually with prospective students given the volume of requests, and issues regarding inequity, we encourage folks to explore our Research page and recent publications. If your interests are well-aligned with those of the lab, please list Dr. Fulford as a potential mentor when you apply.*

In the AMP Lab we support PhD students in Clinical Psychology, Neuroscience, Behavioral Neuroscience, and Rehabilitation Sciences. For prospective clinical psychology students, please visit the application page to see if Dr. Fulford is reviewing applications in a given year. For the other programs, applications will be reviewed each year, and decisions will be made based on funding considerations.

The PhD program in Rehabilitation Sciences offers an exciting and completely unique opportunity for students focused on pursuing a career in experimental psychopathology/clinical mental health research. BU’s Sargent College has a long history of collaborative research and training in the broadly defined fields of health and rehabilitation sciences. The PhD program is tailored to students interested in receiving doctoral training that prepares them for a career in interdisciplinary health-focused academic research. While there is no formal clinical training as part of the program, there are ample opportunities for clinical interviewing and regular patient contact as a member of the AMP Lab. Students take coursework both within the program and in departments outside of Sargent College, including the graduate programs in Neuroscience and Psychological & Brain Sciences. The lab also has several active collaborations with faculty in the Clinical and Brain, Behavior, & Cognition tracks in the department of Psychological & Brain Sciences. For more specific questions about the Boston University PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences program or the application process, please inquire via email or through our Contact Us page.
