Ampersand is an online publication founded by a handful of graduate students in Boston University’s American Studies Program. We believe that academic fields are propelled forward by those at the beginning phases of their careers, and the mission of this journal is a reflection of that belief: to provide a conduit for the work of interdisciplinary graduate and early career scholars, both within and outside of our program. In so doing, we hope to provide a sample of the directions American Studies is currently taking, and to connect with one another to build community around our desire to create innovative scholarship.
