Kihyun Park, Ph.D.

Post-doc

  • Title Post-doc
  • Education Ph.D. from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 2022

I joined the Alani lab in February 2023, and I am interested in epigenetic mechanisms of transcription. During my PhD program at KAIST in Korea, I conducted biochemical research on the effect of KMT2 complexes, which are H3K4 methyltransferases, and CK2 kinase on transcription. Currently, I am studying the effects of the CoREST complex on transcription in melanoma cells using biochemical and cellular experiments. Outside of the lab, I enjoy working out, cycling, and various types of sports, as well as cooking and traveling. I also enjoy watching Netflix and YouTube in my free time.
