I am the Director of Laboratory Operations in the Alani lab and an Instructor in the Department of Dermatology. My research interests revolve around nutrition-based interventions to prevent, mitigate, or treat diseases. In my graduate work, I studied a muscadine grape extract as a potential therapeutic for triple negative breast cancer metastasis. In my postdoctoral work, I studied the role of lipid metabolism in melanoma aggressiveness and investigated gut microbiome perturbations in Hidradenitis suppurativa. I currently investigate the influence of epigenome remodeling on cell metabolism, and vice-versa, in the context of melanoma metastasis and therapeutic resistance. Some unique facts about me are that I speak French, am Canadian, and ran DI cross country and track. When I’m not in the lab, I like to run, bake, make puzzles, and spend time with my family. Unlike many people, I genuinely enjoy Boston winters; I love snow and winter sports!
