Content This manuscript tells the history of the settlement of Daarusalaami-Pakaawu and its inhabitants. The village was built by Kariimu Ishaaka in 1715. He came from Suunaa-Karantaba. A hunter by the name of Kunsandiŋ Daraame first dreamt of the village while sleeping in the forest. He then shared his dream with Kariimu Ishaaka, inspiring him to found the village on the site of the dream. It then tells the story of how the village burned each year for the first seven years after its founding because Kariimu Ishaaka and his brothers forgot to inform the children of a Muslim scholar’s warning not to burn the site of the village after clearing it. It also covers the first inhabitants to move to the new village and their families. The manuscript then details all the compounds that were established and the first imams of the village mosque. The manuscript highlights the importance of dreams and of obeying the advice of Muslim scholars.
