The goal of my research career is to study natural products and nutrition based interventions to prevent, mitigate, or treat diseases. In my graduate work, I studied a muscadine grape extract as a potential therapeutic for triple negative breast cancer metastasis. In my postdoctoral work, I will study the role of lipid metabolism in melanoma aggressiveness. I am particularly interested in elucidating the mechanism of action of natural products or nutritional interventions and using high quality scientific approaches to support or disprove health claims made about natural products in order to better inform the public and ultimately improve disease outcomes. Some unique facts about me are that I speak French, am Canadian,  and ran DI cross country and track. When I’m not in the lab, I love to run, bake and read. Unlike many people, I am genuinely excited for the Boston winters because I love snow and winter sports!
