There only trip outside of Metro-Boston for the rest of the semester will come when they travel to Storrs, Connecticut for a match-up with UConn on December 2nd.

Durocher put both Mary Grace Kelley and Anna Streifel on the ice for warm-ups, printing two lineup sheets depending on who he chose to play. He opted to play Kelley, sitting Streifel after she played last night.

Lea-Kristine Demers, starting her ninth game, stopped 39 of the 40 shots he faced. Demers drops to 4-7-0. She has been in net for all four of Merrimack’s wins.

“Today was a combination of all the skaters playing well and defending hard,” Durocher said

The only goal on Demers came in a second period power play, where Mary Parker put in her team-best 11th of the season.

“I just tried to chip it on net,” Parker said.

Right after a four-on-four sequence ended, Breanna Scarpaci held it at the blue line and worked it to Connor Galway. Galway passed low to Parker, who picked out the top-right corner.

“I remember seeing Connor with the puck at the point, so I tried to pop out a little to be in a good position to shoot,” Parker said.

The goal marks her 54th career goal and her 110th career point. She will face her former team, Harvard, on Tuesday at the Bright-Landry Center.

“I’m excited. It should be fun,” Parker said.

Sarah Steele led all Terriers with seven shots on goal. Most of those shots came from the blue line looking for tips from traffic in front.

Paige Sorenson, Mikyla Grant-Mentis, and Jessica Bonfe each had four shots on goal for the Warriors.

Hanson made most of her saves thanks to her defense clearing out the goalie screen efforts of Merrimack. She credits better communication for the increased success today.

“Just telling each other where the puck was, where to go with it, who was open, I think that worked really well,” Hanson said.

Head coach Erin Hamlen pulled Demers for the extra attacker with 110 seconds left to play. Sammy Davis sent a bid rolling toward the cage from the Terrier blue line. Merrimack’s defense could not get back in time to stop it from careening over the line for her fourth of the season.

Victoria Bach got an assist on the empty-netter, accounting for her 50th career assist.

Harvard (1-5-0 overall, 1-4-0 ECAC) will host the Terriers on Tuesday night after resting this weekend. The Crimson allow an average of 2.67 goals per game and score 1.5 goals per game.

The Crimson have graduated Emerance Maschmeyer, now a goaltender for the Calgary Inferno of the Candian Women’s Hockey League.

Sydeny Daniels leads all Crimson scorers with four goals.

The game will be available on ESPN 3 on Tuesday night.

By: Marisa Ingemi BOSTON — It was not the high-scoring affair of yesterday, but the Boston University Terriers did just enough to win, 2-0, against the Merrimack College Warriors.
