{"id":47367,"date":"2025-03-24T16:52:02","date_gmt":"2025-03-24T20:52:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/wtbu\/?p=47367"},"modified":"2025-03-24T16:54:54","modified_gmt":"2025-03-24T20:54:54","slug":"womens-lacrosse-terriers-dominate-in-their-second-conference-win","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/wtbu\/2025\/03\/24\/womens-lacrosse-terriers-dominate-in-their-second-conference-win\/","title":{"rendered":"Women\u2019s Lacrosse: Terriers Dominate in Their Second Conference Win"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By Kasie Costalas<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Boston University Women\u2019s Lacrosse (7-3, 2-1 PL) secured their third straight win against Lafayette College (4-5, 0-2 PL) Saturday afternoon in Easton, PA.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The 17-8 win marked the Terriers\u2019 second Patriot League victory, giving the team some positive momentum as they head deeper into conference play.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BU\u2019s Hannah Tillier started the game strong, scoring her first of two goals within the first 47 seconds of play.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Leopards answered Tillier with an unassisted goal of their own to tie the game, but the Terriers were soon able to extend their previous lead with four unanswered goals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Five goals were scored by five different BU players in the first quarter, including junior Elle Stevenson, who tallied a total of four goals during the game, demonstrating their multidimensional offense.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After the Terriers\u2019 5-1 start, Lafayette opened up scoring in the second quarter when junior Olivia Kelley capitalized on a penalty shot.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Leopards tallied another, courtesy of Olivia Hover, sending the Terriers into a 12-minute no-scoring slump.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite the lull in energy, sophomore attacker, Izabella Amonte, was able to reignite BU\u2019s offense before the end of the quarter by ripping two penalty shots from the top of the 8-meter.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Amonte ultimately scored a career-high four goals on the day to help lead her team to victory.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Terriers dominated 7-3 at halftime, but both teams kept pace during the third quarter, putting up three goals each. Tillier drove from behind the crease with a five-hole shot to score her second goal. Less than five minutes later, she completed an assist to Kendal Simms, who had a hat trick on the day.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With a four-goal lead going into the final quarter, BU completely dominated the last 15 minutes of play by adding another seven goals. Junior attacker, Jayne Feeney, scored the first goal of the quarter before Stevenson put her final three in the back of the net.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sophomore Natalie Aiosa had nine saves in net, boosting her save percentage to over 50%.
