As they look to wrap up the regular season with a win, the Boston University Terriers (6-9, 3-3 PL) will take on Cornell University Big Red (6-8, 3-3 IL) on Sunday at home.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Terriers matchup against the Big Red is the last of the regular season before the start of the Patriot League Tournament, which they have clinched a spot in, with the semifinals beginning on Nov. 7.<\/p>\n

BU and Cornell have only faced each other twice in their history, splitting the series 1-1, with both teams winning their game at home. The Terriers’ win traces all the way back to 1987, while the Big Red’s was only last year in 2023.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Although a bit down on offense through two consecutive shutouts, the heavy-shooting matchups have shown great success for goalkeeper Kate Thomason, who had a season-high 12 saves in BU’s most recent tilt against Lafayette. Thomason now boasts a solid 0.723 save percentage.<\/p>\n

With Patriot League regular season play over, the Terriers’ place as the fourth seed in the tournament is set in stone, and neither a win nor a loss to the Big Red would impact the standings.<\/p>\n

Cornell’s losing record does not look great to the naked eye, but five out of the team’s eight losses have been to teams ranked in the top 20 and another five by a single goal.\u00a0<\/p>\n

For the Big Red, one to watch is Uma K\u00e4ding, who doubled her season goal total to four by adding two during the team’s most recent game against Brown.<\/p>\n

BU will take on Cornell for a 2 p.m. Sunday matinee on Nov. 3 at New Balance Field, with footage available for streaming on ESPN+.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
