Gallery: Men’s hockey responds strong in second game of weekend against UMass Lowell

Searching for a split of the weekend’s results, the Boston University men’s hockey team fired three goals past the UMass Lowell River Hawks, while earning the team’s second shutout of the season. For practically the entire first two periods, there was little action between both teams, however, sophomore defenseman Cole Hutson broke deadlock with 1.7 seconds left in the middle frame. In the 12th minute of the third period, sophomore forward Nick Roukounakis doubled the Terriers’ lead on a one-timer, before freshman forward Ben Merrill cashed in on the empty net for a 3-0 lead. Sophomore goaltender saved all 23 shots he faced for his second shutout in two weeks.
