Aviva&#8217;s research focuses on the applications of synthetic biology for detection of cancer <em>in vivo<\/em> using engineered cells to act as living sensors, taking advantage of genetic circuit architecture(s) like SynNotch, and building upon the Wong Lab&#8217;s expertise in generating universal sensing and targeting receptors to generate  more sensitive diagnostic tools.
