Kim Vanuytsel,\u00a0<\/strong>Ph.D.<\/b><\/p>\n Assistant Professor of Medicine<\/em> Contact: kimvan@bu.edu<\/p>\n Kim is a stem cell biologist with expertise in developmental hematopoiesis, red blood cell development and hematopoietic stem cell biology. She is originally from Belgium and obtained her PhD from KU Leuven (Leuven, Belgium), developing a disease model for Fanconi anemia using human pluripotent stem cells. She subsequently joined the laboratory of George Murphy at the Center for Regenerative Medicine (CReM) at Boston University (BU) and Boston Medical Center (BMC) for her postdoctoral work. Since joining the BU\/BMC research community, she has focused on developing tools and resources that help us understand important concepts in hematopoietic development with the goal of translating this knowledge into the realization of the immense potential that induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and hematopoietic stem cells hold for disease modeling and regenerative medicine.<\/p>\n Outside of the lab, Kim enjoys exploring the world through the eyes of her daughters (1 yo twins and their 5 yo sister), through painting, through food and through music.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Madeline Labott<\/strong><\/p>\n PhD Candidate<\/em><\/p>\n Contact: mlabott@bu.edu<\/span><\/p>\n Madeline is a PhD candidate at Boston University in the Department of Molecular and Translation Medicine. Prior to BU, she attended UW Madison where she <\/span>earned a Genetics and Genomics BS. In her free time, Madeline enjoys running, rollerblading, reading, and scuba diving.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Anna Goldstein<\/strong><\/p>\n MD\/PhD Student<\/em><\/p>\n Anna is an MD\/PhD student in the lab. Before attending BU, she received her BA in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, with a minor in French from Middlebury College.<\/span> In her free time, Anna enjoys ice hockey, rollerblading, cooking and art.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Undergraduate <\/em><\/p>\n Tyonna is an undergraduate student who is part of the Early Medical School Selection Program (EMSSP) at Boston University. She is interested in learning more about stem cell technologies in relation to genetic disorders. In her free time she loves to learn about music and collect records.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Gianna DiCola<\/strong><\/p>\n Undergraduate <\/em><\/p>\n Gianna is an undergraduate studying cellular & molecular biology and genetics at BU. She is interested in stem cell biology within translational medicine, with the hope of attending medical school in the coming years. In her free time she loves to row as part of BU\u2019s women\u2019s rowing team and do crafts.<\/p>\n Braden Pate – <\/strong>Lab Manager<\/em><\/p>\n Braden is currently a PhD student at Stanford University in the Welander lab.<\/span><\/p>\n Maria A.
