\nURBAN ARCH Junior Investigators and Trainees<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n![\"urban](\"\/urbanarch\/files\/2016\/02\/urban-arch-trainees.jpg\")
<\/a><\/p>\nl-r: Kaku So-Armah, Jeffrey Samet, and Jennifer Wagman at UMASS Medical School; Kinna Thakarar and Rich Saitz at AMERSA; Kinna Thakarar, Jennifer Wagman, Jeffrey Samet, and Judy Hahn at CHAART.<\/em><\/p>\nOne of the most rewarding accomplishments of the URBAN ARCH Consortium\u2019s first five years is that we have brought on so many new collaborators to conduct research in the field of HIV and alcohol. We want to highlight the\u00a0junior faculty and trainees<\/span><\/a> who have joined us and reflect on their progress and achievements. This talented group comes from multiple countries and diverse disciplines to explore the rich datasets of the URBAN ARCH Consortium. Their collaborative efforts with URBAN ARCH investigators have produced many funding applications, 19 peer-reviewed publications, and several presentations at prominent conferences such as the annual meetings of the Research Society on Alcoholism (RSA), the College on Problems of Drug Dependence (CPDD), and the International AIDS Society (IAS). In addition to trainees who led analyses, 18 students from the Boston University School of Public Health worked with the Administrative Coordinating (Admin) and Biostatistics and Data Management (BDM) Cores to support URBAN ARCH projects before moving on to professional roles in research and health services.<\/p>\nIn this issue, several of these junior investigators are highlighted for their accomplishments with the Uganda, Russia and Boston ARCH projects.
