{"id":2005,"date":"2019-08-08T16:13:50","date_gmt":"2019-08-08T20:13:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/urban\/?p=2005"},"modified":"2019-08-08T16:13:50","modified_gmt":"2019-08-08T20:13:50","slug":"bu-urban-travel-and-research-funds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.bu.edu\/urban\/2019\/08\/08\/bu-urban-travel-and-research-funds\/","title":{"rendered":"BU URBAN Travel and Research Funds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We\u2019re excited to announce a funding opportunity for all<span>\u00a0<\/span>BU<span>\u00a0<\/span>URBAN<span>\u00a0<\/span>Trainees that supports<span>\u00a0<\/span>research<span>\u00a0<\/span>or conference<span>\u00a0<\/span>travel<span>\u00a0<\/span>for presenters.\u00a0Each award is made in support<span>\u00a0<\/span>of<span>\u00a0<\/span>Ph.D.<span>\u00a0<\/span>research<span>\u00a0<\/span>in\u00a0interdisciplinary<span>\u00a0<\/span>research<span>\u00a0<\/span>topics that span\u00a0<em>both<\/em>\u00a0Biogeoscience\u00a0<em>and<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/em>Environmental Health in<span>\u00a0<\/span>urban<span>\u00a0<\/span>systems or for\u00a0trainees who will\u00a0travel\u00a0to a meeting or conference to present their work within the year.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>The application deadline is September 30, 2019\u00a0at 5 pm.\u00a0 Please send your proposal<span>\u00a0<\/span>and<span>\u00a0<\/span>CV as one PDF\u00a0to<span>\u00a0<\/span>Pam Templer (<a href=\"mailto:ptempler@bu.edu\">ptempler@bu.edu<\/a>)<span>\u00a0<\/span>with \u201cURBAN\u00a0Trainee Award Fall 2019\u201d as the subject<span>\u00a0<\/span>of<span>\u00a0<\/span>your email.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A small faculty committee will evaluate the proposals<span>\u00a0<\/span>and<span>\u00a0<\/span>we will announce award decisions by<span>\u00a0<\/span>mid October<span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u>Required Format for One-Page Proposal<\/u><span>\u00a0<\/span><u>and<\/u><span>\u00a0<\/span><u>CV<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your proposal is limited to one-page (single space in 12-point\u00a0Times\u00a0font; one page includes references cited).<\/li>\n<li>In your proposal please describe: (1) the novelty<span>\u00a0<\/span>and<span>\u00a0<\/span>importance<span>\u00a0<\/span>of<span>\u00a0<\/span>the proposed<span>\u00a0<\/span>research<span>\u00a0<\/span>or work you will present at a conference<span>\u00a0<\/span>and<span>\u00a0<\/span>how it advances the<span>\u00a0<\/span>fields<span>\u00a0<\/span>of\u00a0both<span>\u00a0<\/span>Urban<span>\u00a0<\/span>Biogeoscience\u00a0and<span>\u00a0<\/span>Environmental Health<span>\u00a0<\/span>and<span>\u00a0<\/span>(2) how the funding will help you achieve your goals.<\/li>\n<li>Within your proposal:\n<ul>\n<li>If you are requesting funds to support your conference<span>\u00a0<\/span>travel, please describe the conference<span>\u00a0<\/span>and<span>\u00a0<\/span>session that you have submitted or will submit an abstract to.
